Emmanuel Zurini, avec une incroyable intelligence des lignes et des formes, sculpte automobiles, avions et bateaux off-shore, emprisonnant dans la matière l’objet de sa passion : la vitesse. Le goût du beau, Zurini le possède indiscutablement. Ce qu’il livre au regard, c’est l’essentiel, l’esprit même d’une automobile, ne retenant que son élégance et sa puissance.
Zurini, né en 1942, est un écolier de Prévert : des études brèves, la tête à la fenêtre il aime la course, il devient photographe de grand prix, publie et expose. Commence, à plus de trente ans, avec une apparente facilité, une carrière heureuse . Lorsqu’il prend dans ses bonnes mains les outils du tailleur de pierre, il poursuit une quête obsédante et acharnée de perfection des volumes, traçant fougueusement des épures simplifiées, tendant la nervure des lignes horizontales, affinant patiemment les contours, polissant et repolissant les surfaces comme pour donner à la matière une transparence d’âme , surveillant minutieusement les fontes, briquant les ors, jusqu’à obtenir une forme mystérieuse, l’expression synthétique d’une automobile et d’un rêve fulgurant de vitesse. Ces bolides fluides sollicitent la caresse et restituent tactilement la tendresse du geste créateur.
Zurini méprise le clinquant, et cependant excelle dans l’éclat doré du bronze .Simultanément, il emploie les matériaux nobles, le bloc de marbre et le granit, exercice technique périlleux. La pierre a un sens, elle est débitée en fonction, toujours le même. Avec le volume, les veines apparaissent sous tous les angles. Au sculpteur d’harmoniser et d’équilibrer l’ensemble. A l’heure de la maturité, Zurini peut entreprendre tous les élargissements : de l’oeuvre monumentale pour laquelle il a le tempérament et le souffle, aux ... bijoux, car ses mains de forgeron ont la délicatesse de l’orfèvre

Zurini undeniably possesses a taste for beauty. What he presents to the eye is the essential—the very spirit of an automobile—retaining only its elegance and power.
 
Born in 1942, Zurini was a schoolboy in the spirit of Prévert: brief studies, his head out the window, fascinated by racing. He became a Grand Prix photographer, publishing and exhibiting his work. In his thirties, he began, with apparent ease, a successful artistic career. When he took up the tools of a stone carver in his skilled hands, he pursued an obsessive and relentless quest for perfection in volume—boldly sketching simplified outlines, tightening the tension of horizontal lines, patiently refining contours, polishing and repolishing surfaces as if to give the material a transparency of soul. He meticulously supervised castings, burnished gold finishes, until achieving a mysterious form: the distilled expression of an automobile and a dazzling dream of speed. These fluid machines invite touch and convey, through their tactile presence, the tenderness of the creative gesture.
 
Zurini disdains ostentation, yet excels in the golden brilliance of bronze. At the same time, he works with noble materials—blocks of marble and granite—a technically demanding practice. Stone has meaning; it is cut with intention, always guided by the same principle. Through volume, the veins emerge from every angle, and it is the sculptor’s task to harmonize and balance the whole. At the height of his maturity, Zurini can undertake every expansion of his art—from monumental works, for which he has both the temperament and the breath, to jewelry, for his blacksmith’s hands possess the delicacy of a goldsmith.
